Why spend $15-$20 on a haircut where you can just do it at home. Many people think its hard to cut their own hair because they don’t know how to and does not have the proper self-grooming tools.
5 Steps in giving yourself the PERFECT FADE IN 5-10 MINUTES
1) You need a good pair of hair clippers/ trimmers that you can buy at beauty supplies store. ( Hair clipper is the actual “groomer” and the trimmer helps create your sharp hairline from the front, side, and to your back neck line.) PLEASE don’t waste your money buying a $20-$30 hair clippers. If you just spend $40 or more on a good set of clippers, that set will last you a lifetime. Most clippers comes with five to seven guards.
2) Before you buzz your hair, make sure you need a good lighting and also a good mirror and no we are not talking about a handheld mirror. We are talking about The Self-Cut System’s patent pending three way mirror design makes seeing your head easy from any angle and allows you to use your hands for cutting instead of holding a mirror…it’s very affordable and it comes with an educational DVD in self-grooming. 3) Now once you have all the tools…lets get down to business! You can start cutting the top of your hair with a number 4, 3, 2, or 1 depending how short you want your hair to be. For example: if you use # 2 on top, you can buzz your hair with a zero or with the trimmer halfway up of your melon from the neck line. Make sure to go over your head with #2 all around. Then use # 1 1/2 going upward motion around the side of your head, then with a #1 with the same technique but only go half way up, not to the top or else you will give yourself a high and tight hairstyle look. Then use #0.5 with the same technique, this is where you do the blending process. To completely get rid of the line use the # zero or your trimmer using the corner of the blade.
4) The last step is trimming your front, side and back hairline. This part requires some patience because you don’t want the line to look uneven. We fully recommend to use a trimmer rather than a hair clipper that is set on zero. A good quality trimmer will give you a sharper hairline.
